On the weekend when I was out the back pulling up some of my dreaded Caltrop I noticed some of my "Native Weeds" had some pretty little pink berries on them, looking similar to a pomegranate seed (fleshy around the outside with a seed in the middle).....hmmm interesting....Photo from: http://www.anbg.gov.au/gnp/gnp13/enchylaena-tomentosa.html
How great it is to be a slack weeder!!!

Have you tried eating the berries??
Ali, yes I have, and I am still alive, they sort of have a taste a little bit like an apple. I thought it was sort of sweet, a little tart, and maybe slightly salty, but its a bit hard to tell with one berry which is about 5mm in diameter.
How wonderful! real bush tucker. It reminds me of the scene in crocodile dundee.. where he uses red berries to attract bats!
wow, you're brave!! In the nearest larger town to me there is a Bush Tucker group but they meet in the evenings and I hate driving in windy country roads at night by myself...
